The Orbea Enduro Team rider from the Canary Islands achieved the first victory of his career in the Electric Enduro World Championship on his Orbea Wild equipped with Galfer\u2019s new \u201cDisc Shark\u00ae\u201d discs.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tweed Valley (United Kingdom) hosted the first meeting of the Enduro World Series 2022 featuring all competition categories and with Galfer Bike representatives playing a prominent role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the men\u2019s EWS-E, Edgar Carballo stood out from the other competitors, setting the best time in 8 of the 12 timed sections and winning the race by almost 20 seconds. Carballo used the new \u201cDisc Shark\u00ae\u201d brake discs with lilac G1652 pads for E-bikes on his Orbea Wild bike, which gave him optimum braking performance at all times. This is Edgar\u2019s first victory in the Electric Enduro World Championship, placing him as provisional leader of the Series. Meanwhile, Portuguese rider Tiago Ladeira finished eighth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the women\u2019s category, Chile\u2019s Florencia Espi\u00f1eira\u00a0made a good debut with her new team, finishing fourth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the men\u2019s EWS, Martin Maes, the Orbea Enduro Team\u2019s star signing, finished fourth overall after riding without a chain during a special stage. Martin set very solid times in all the timed sections but, due to the broken chain, he was unable to finish on the podium. Nevertheless, it was a good debut as the new rider of the Spanish team and shows the solidity of the new \u201cDisc Shark\u00ae\u201d discs in all kinds of circumstances. In the same category, Irishman Greg Callaghan (Devinci Global Racing) finished 12th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the women\u2019s category, Melanie Pugin (BH Racing Enduro Team), current world champion, did not have her best weekend, suffering a hard crash and finishing 15th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And in the Master category, Karim Amour (BH Racing Enduro Team) started his season with a fourth place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
