This was certainly an excitement-packed weekend: the uncertainty of a storm that kept us on the edge of our seats, a red flag in Race 1 of the WorldSSP and several podium finishes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rain was forecast every day for the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, although in the end the weather was nowhere near as bad as expected and the riders were able to race without any of the dangers associated with rain. Even so, Race 1 did not start well for Galfer riders and the red flag was waving on the second lap: Peter Sebestyen (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team) suffered a crash which led to the race being shortened to 12 laps. His teammate, Lorenzo Baldassarri (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team), who started in 4th<\/sup> position, got into a 3-way battle with his rivals Dominique Aegerter and Can \u00d6nc\u00fc, finishing in 2nd<\/sup> position. In the second race, however, he finished 4th<\/sup> because Stefano Manzi (Dynavolt Triumph), who in the first race hadn\u2019t made it past the 8th<\/sup> lap, started the race in 17th<\/sup> position on his Triumph and finished second, despite losing one position due to exceeding the track limits. Nonetheless, the former Moto2 rider secured a remarkable third position after a truly complicated race competing against Baldassarri, \u00d6nc\u00fc and Aegerter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The riders with the MV Agusta Reparto Corse team achieved outstanding and consistent results, especially Sofuo\u011flu, who came 5th<\/sup> in Race 1, 7th<\/sup> in Race 2 and 1st<\/sup> in the WorldSSP Challenge. Meanwhile, his teammate Niki Tuuli finished 6th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup>. The Kallio Racing team did not leave empty-handed either, as their rider Simon Jespersen managed to finish Race 1 among the Top Ten and only came up two positions short in Race 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To complete the treble, on Saturday, the Motap Racing team secured a spot on the podium with their rider Julio Garc\u00eda. In an outstanding FP session, he managed to finish 2nd<\/sup>, and in the qualifying sessions he achieved 4th<\/sup> position, a great start which helped him earn a well-deserved 3rd<\/sup> position, taking the bronze. In Race 2 he managed to get into the Top Ten to close a magnificent weekend of racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next race will be at the Portim\u00e3o circuit in Portugal on 8 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
