British rider Tom Booth-Amos, from PTR Triumph Factory Racing, had a spectacular start to the 2025 FIM Supersport World Championship, securing a victory and a second-place finish in the first two races held at Phillip Island (Australia). He achieved this feat while riding his Triumph equipped with innovative Galfer Floatech\u00ae brake discs<\/strong> and Racing G1310 sintered brake pads<\/strong>, reaffirming the performance of these components in top-level competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A VICTORY FOR THE HISTORY BOOKS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Booth-Amos made history by becoming the first British rider to win a World Supersport race on a Triumph motorcycle, within a British team, and with Galfer brakes<\/strong>. Starting from the second row, he executed a flawless start and, after an intense battle with Stefano Manzi<\/strong> and Can \u00d6nc\u00fc<\/strong>, took the lead in the 18-lap race. Manzi applied pressure until the very end, but the 28-year-old Briton maintained control and crossed the finish line in first place, securing his maiden World Supersport victory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first race, Booth-Amos also fought at the front and finished in second place, earning key championship points<\/strong> that place him at the top of the standings, tied with Manzi at 45 points<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STRONG DEBUT FOR OLI BAYLISS AND STANDOUT PERFORMANCE FROM CAN \u00d6NC\u00dc<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His teammate, Oli Bayliss<\/strong>, also made a strong impression in his debut with PTR Triumph Factory Racing<\/strong>, securing two solid Top 10 finishes<\/strong> by placing seventh<\/strong> in both races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Can \u00d6nc\u00fc<\/strong> (Yamaha Evan Bros) demonstrated great pace<\/strong> on his new Yamaha R-9<\/strong>, equipped with Galfer Floatech\u00ae discs<\/strong> and Racing G1310 pads<\/strong>. He finished fifth in the first race<\/strong> and was fighting for a podium in the second until a last-lap crash took him out of the points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these results, PTR Triumph Factory Racing<\/strong> now leads the team standings<\/strong>, while Triumph<\/strong> is positioned as the number one manufacturer<\/strong> after the opening round of the championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
