GALFER TAKES ITS SHARK LINE TO THE NEXT LEVEL WITH THE NEW DISC SHARK® EVO FOR MTB

Galfer, a global benchmark in MTB braking solutions, combines decades of experience with cutting-edge innovation, performance, and reliability. Its commitment to technical excellence has made it a trusted brand in disciplines like Downhill, Enduro, and E-bikes.

Following the success of the original Shark disc launched in 2022, Galfer expands its iconic line with the new Disc Shark® EVO MTB, designed for riders seeking uncompromising performance.

The Disc Shark® EVO, first presented at Eurobike 2025, has now been fully launched and is available on the market in 2026. The intense development process over the past months has resulted in this ultimate hi-tech version, which means a significant evolution from the previous model, bringing it up to the latest performance standards in 2026.

This new model raises the technological bar even further, while maintaining the DNA of innovation and reliability that has made the Shark family a symbol of trust among both professional and amateur riders.

The new Disc Shark® EVO is the only brake disc on the market with original Kashima coating, a premium technology previously reserved for high-end suspensions and components. This innovation reinforces its exclusive, distinctive, and high-performance character.

THREE EXCLUSIVE FINISHES TO COMBINE STYLE AND PERFORMANCE

The new Disc Shark® EVO will be available in three high-end finishes:

  • Original Kashima: Ideal for matching with Fox Kashima components to achieve a top-tier aesthetic and technical setup.
  • Black Anodized: A sleek and versatile finish that easily integrates with any build.
  • Raw Aluminum: A raw finish that reveals the CNC machining marks from the manufacturing process, without compromising strength or performance.

SIX REASONS IT STANDS OUT

1. New Shark braking track: larger surface, more friction power

  • Evolved design provides greater mass and contact area, ensuring more powerful and consistent braking.
  • Compatible with all types of brake pads, including larger ones, ensuring a perfect fit.

2. Superior cooling: better performance, less fade

  • More fins and thermal dissipation holes help control temperature, ideal for intense descents and extended use.
  • Greater thermal stability and longer brake system lifespan.

3. Higher structural and dynamic efficiency

  • The aluminium core, designed through topological optimization, is fully CNC-machined to deliver unprecedented rigidity and precision.
  • Aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminium alloy: lightweight and durable.
  • The core and braking track are mounted coplanarly, providing superior stability and exceptional performance even under the most demanding conditions. Additionally, it ensures uniform pad wear thanks to the symmetrical action of both pistons.

4. Original Kashima coating: exclusivity and differentiation

  • Increased durability and wear resistance. The Kashima treatment creates an ultra-resistant layer of hard anodized oxide, significantly improving wear resistance, especially beneficial in the aluminum core exposed to extreme conditions, without compromising its integrity or performance.

5. Optimized Semi-Rigid Connection

  • The connection between the core and the braking track, using 8 mm hollow aluminium rivets and an optimized semi-rigid joint, ensures exceptional force transmission between both components, maximizing performance and comfort.

6. Full Compatibility with E-bikes

  • Compatible with speed sensor magnets, maintaining full E-bike system functionality.
