The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve witnessed a historic moment in the Supersport World Championship this weekend. Valentin Debise (ZXMOTO Factory Evan Bros Racing) achieved an unprecedented feat for the Asian manufacturer by winning Race 2 of the Pirelli Portugal Round, adding to his victory on Saturday to complete a perfect weekend.
Debise proved to be the fastest in the opening event and displayed remarkable superiority aboard the new ZXMOTO 820RR-RS. Despite a small mistake in the final laps that saw him briefly lose the lead to Lucas Mahias and Albert Arenas, Debise reacted quickly to reclaim the top spot and cross the finish line first.
These two consecutive wins are no coincidence. The partnership between ZXMOTO’s cutting-edge technology and Galfer’s expertise is making a clear difference in the championship. The ZXMOTO 820RR-RS has proven to be a powerful and reliable machine, capable of combining raw power with meticulous fine-tuning.
The success formula: Power and Braking
The key to the ZXMOTO 820RR-RS’s success lies in its 819cc triple-cylinder engine, delivering 153.6 hp and a reduced weight of 182 kg. However, speed without control is not enough. That’s where Galfer’s racing braking system comes into play, allowing Debise to maintain a high pace and recover positions even after a mistake.
The team relied on Galfer’s most advanced range, the Floatech® Racing discs JCW1 paired with the Sintered G1310 brake pads. This component offers exceptional heat dissipation and fatigue resistance – crucial on a demanding circuit like Portimão, where steep gradients and high-energy braking push every component to its limit.
A weekend for the history books
This double triumph in Portugal not only represents two victories but also cements ZXMOTO as a rising force in the World Supersport Championship. At Galfer, we are proud that our technology remains a fundamental pillar for teams aiming to make the difference on the asphalt.
The next stop is Assen. If the level shown in Portugal continues, the championship promises to be one of the most thrilling in recent years.
