Ortolá and Danish brake the world at Brno

First position in Moto2 and Moto3 on the same Sunday. With Galfer discs and brake pads as technical allies, the MSi Racing Team riders turned the Czech circuit into the stage for one of their greatest historic achievements.

Some Sundays are forever etched in a team’s memory. This was one of them. The MSi Racing Team, with Galfer’s technical backing on their braking systems, completed a historic day at the Brno circuit: victory in Moto2 with Ivan Ortolá and victory in Moto3 with Hakim Danish. A double that very few teams can boast of, and which has sent shockwaves through the international paddock.

Ortolá: braking as a decisive weapon in Moto2

Brno is one of those circuits that punishes any imprecision in braking without mercy. Its long straights followed by technical corners demand stopping the bike from extremely high speeds with a combination of power and modulation that leaves no room for error. Ortolá knew this and arrived prepared. Backed by Galfer brake discs —recognised for their resistance to fading even under the most extreme thermal stress— the Spanish rider was able to attack braking points later than his rivals throughout the entire race, with a confidence that translated directly into lap time. Intelligent in managing the pace, flawless in execution, he crossed the line in first position without so much as a single moment of hesitation.

“It was a perfect race. The feeling with the bike was incredible from the very first lap and we were able to push to the limit throughout the whole race. Trusting the brakes on a circuit like this changes everything.” — Ivan Ortolá

The Galfer Floatech® Racing JCW1 brake discs are designed to maintain consistent bite throughout the race, with no loss of effectiveness due to heat build-up. On a high thermal load circuit like Brno, that stability is the difference between winning and settling for a podium finish.

Danish gives no quarter in Moto3

In Moto3, battles are won and lost in fractions of a second. Overtaking moves involve calculated risk, and the ability to brake later than the rider ahead —with the confidence that the system will respond— is an enormous tactical advantage. Hakim Danish made perfect use of it. The Malaysian rider got a clean start, moved into the leading positions from the very first metres and from there managed the race with a maturity beyond his years. Every braking point, every change of direction, executed with the surgical precision that Galfer pads allow, known in the paddock for their progressiveness and predictable response at any operating temperature. His rivals simply could not find a way past him.

“This is a result I had dreamt of and one the team deserves. We have worked incredibly hard this week. When you fully trust the material you’re running, you can take risks where others dare not.” — Hakim Danish

The Galfer Racing G1310 sintered brake pads for competition offer a linear response curve that allows the rider to modulate pressure with millimetre precision, fundamental in late braking manoeuvres and the overtaking moves of Moto3, where the margins are minimal.

A milestone that belongs to everyone

Achieving a double in Moto2 and Moto3 on the same day is not simply a question of talent: it is the result of months of joint work between riders, engineers and technical suppliers. Galfer has been accompanying the MSi Racing Team for years in the development and fine-tuning of their braking systems, contributing not only high-performance components but also the knowledge and technical support that makes it possible to adapt each configuration to the characteristics of each circuit.

In Brno, that relationship bore fruit in the most emphatic way possible: with both team riders on the top step of the podium. A recognition that goes far beyond the sporting result and confirms Galfer as a genuine reference in the world of competition braking.

The championship continues, but the image of this Sunday in the Czech Republic is now part of the history of the team and of Galfer. When talent and technology work in the same direction, the results speak for themselves. And this weekend they have spoken loud and clear.
